That's right our little Jaxie is a big 2 year old today! I can't believe that he's not a baby anymore. He's a TODDLER. He is a crazy little boy with a cute personality. I love him with all my heart and I am so grateful to be his mommy!

It's crazy how much he's changed. I took Jaxon in for his 2 year check up. He is 29lbs 8oz in the 70 percentile for his weight and a big 36 1/2 inches in the 94 percentile for his height. He is huge! Now I know why people always tell me he is a big boy. I love watching him learn and grow. He knows his ABC's and we are working on his numbers. He walks around the house saying 1,2,1,2,1,2. It's a start. He amazes me everyday!

After 6 months of looking and lots and lots of offers later.......We are officially HOMEOWNERS!!!!

We have lots to do before we move in on Tuesday. We are so excited and blessed to be able to spend this Christmas in our new home.

This October has been tons of fun. We went to Bishop's Pumpkin Patch, to our ward Trunk-or-Treat, carved pumpkins and of course went trick-or-treating Halloween night!

Halloween morning Jax woke up with a fever and no other symptoms. Just to play it safe we stayed home from our family Halloween party. Jaxon really missed trick-or-treating with all of his cousins:( That evening his fever dropped so we dressed him up and took him around to a few houses.

I love the month of October! I love the fall and all the festivities! I am already thinking about what Jaxon will be next year for Halloween. I can't wait!

That's right Jaxon has an obsession and he is only 16 months. Jaxon has to watch Super Why along with Sid the Science Kid every morning. I don't mind because he actually learns a lot. If you ask Jax what sound does an "S" make he will say sssss. He does the same for "B" and "D". I love to watch him watch Super Why because he gets so excited and dances all over the place. It's too cute!

New Brighton & Monterey

Every year we go on a camping trip with Josh's family. This year we also started our annual camping trip with our "Circles" friends. It just so happens that both of our camping trips were at New Brighton beach in Capitola one right after the other. And in between our camping trips we stayed with our friends, Brian and Hilary Wiest in Monterey.

The first trip was with Josh's family. We went Thursday thru Saturday morning and we had a ton of fun, especially Jaxon! Jaxon loved playing in the dirt. His hands, face, shoes and clothes were covered in dirt pretty much for the whole trip. We went to the beach, soaked up some sun and watched Jax enjoy his first experience with sand. He loved it!!! We also went to Pizza My Heart in Santa Cruz and to this awesome ice cream shop called Marianne's. They had about 50 flavors! It's the best ice cream ever!!! We really enjoyed spending time with family.

On Saturday morning we packed up camp and headed to Monterey to stay with our friends. After camping we enjoyed being able to relax indoors, take a shower without having to wear flip flops and spending time with our friends. Hilary worked hard to find us free passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Jaxon had so mush fun exploring the aquarium and looking at all the fish. Thank you so much Brian and Hilary for letting us stay with you!

On Monday afternoon we packed up again and headed back to New Brighton Beach. There were six families that were able to make it. The Morgan's, Perryman's, Lamb's, Ashby's, Wiest's and of course us The Mortimer's. We missed the Todd's and Vanhorne's. :( Maybe next year? It was so nice to see everybody. We all met a few years back in the Roseville 9th ward and became good friends. Then as life goes on we all moved and went our separate ways. Well except for us, we are still in the Roseville 9th ward. We had fun catching up on everyone's lives and seeing all of the beautiful kids. We made another trip to Pizza My Heart and Marianne's. Then we headed to the Boardwalk, for fun and rides. We had a BLAST! We already miss all of our friends and can't wait until next year!

Happy Birthday Jaxon!!!

Today our baby boy turned 1. We can't believe how fast Jax is growing. We had a nice day. Well besides the nurse giving him shots on his birthday. I think we could of done without that. He is a big 24 lbs 13oz and is 30 1/2 in. I guess you can say he is one healthy boy! He is a talker in his own martian language. He does say mama, dada, and baby in english though. He also likes to say ahhhh with his mouth open so big. He can be pretty hilarious. We have so much fun watching him learn and grow.

10 months!

Jaxon is 10 months old. I know I can't believe it! Babies really do grow fast. Jaxon is on the move at all times. He can actually crawl normal now except sometimes he gets lazy and goes back to the army crawl. He is also standing and walking along furniture. It's just a matter of time before he is walking all over the place. Jaxon is so much fun! He just learned how to wave goodbye and he points to everything. He is so funny with all of his facial expressions. We just love him so much!!!

I am sorry it has been awhile since I last posted. I just haven't had alot to talk about. My life can be kind of boring at times, I guess?

Jaxon is now 8 months. Well now he is almost 9 months old. Since the last time I blogged, Jaxon has one tooth and a 2nd just about in. And he is a major army crawler. He started about a week ago and thats when my life got little harder. He is into everything. He doesn't really care as much for his toys when he can put his hands in the VCR, pull on the shades of the sliding glass door or tug and chew on every cord. He can also open and close drawers. Yes my child is a curious MoNsTeR! But at the same time is so dang cute! I just love watching him grow and learn new things. We are currently working on the word "NO". As of right now he thinks it is so funny. I hope it won't be that way for long.

3 Years!

Josh and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. Josh's mom was able to take of Jaxon so that we could celebrate. We went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and then we saw "Seven Pounds". The movie was great but I pretty much cried through half of it. I recommend it! We really enjoyed spending spending time together.

I look back and I just can't believe how fast the time has flown by. I feel like we were married just yesterday. And how in the last year our family has grown from 2 to 3. We have been blessed in so many ways and we couldn't be more happy. We look forward to spending all time and eternity together!

Jaxon wanted to graduate too.

Josh graduated from Sac State on Friday. Woo hoo! He is so glad to be done and he is ready to start his career. We are so proud of him and all his hard work that he has put into school, work and our family. We love you!!! On Friday we also celebrated my 24th birthday by going to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. It's my fav restaurant!

Then on Saturday we celebrated Josh's graduation with a party. It was awesome! Thanks to all that helped out. I don't know what I would have done without you. I also promised my primary class that I would bring gingerbread cookies for them on Sunday. So I stayed up till 2 in the morning making gingerbraed cookies and finishing my lesson. So much fun!

On Sunday we attended William Perryman's baby blessing. Thanks for inviting us Liz and Scott! William is so precious! We love you guys! We then had the opportunity to attend Josh's Aunt and Uncle's annual Christmas Gathering. It was great. The music was so beautiful. We had a really good time, especially Jaxon!

Busy Busy Busy Month!

Last month was one busy month. Thanksgiving with family, sick and teething baby, black friday @ 4 in the morning, family photos and Jaxon is 6 months.

Jaxon is now half a year old. We had his check up yesterday and he is one healthy boy. He weighs 20lbs 4oz and is 27in. He is my little chunky beast. Heis learning so much. He can sit without support. He is a little wobbley at times but he does really well. He is rolling all over the place. And he just started to say "ma ma". With lots of help from me. He doesn't know that thats the words for me yet but will get there. I just can't believe how much he has changed. I love this age. He is so much fun!

Jaxon has already experienced 2 colds just this last month. He got sick right after we got home from Disneyland. He was sick for about 2 1/2 weeks and then was fine for about a week and now has been sick again for about 2 weeks. Sick babies are so hard. I feel so bad because there is only so much you can do for a sick baby. On top of that we are in teething mode. Jaxon went from sleeping 12 hours @ night to waking up every couple of hours screaming. My poor baby! If anyone has any advice for me on teething babies, please tell!

Yes, I was a crazy that went shopping @ 4 in the morning on black friday. I didn't go for anything in particular. It has just become a tradition with my sisters and I. We just love all the hype and excitement. We had fun and we shopped until we dropped!

We went to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago with my whole family. There was 20 of us that went. We had a blast! Jaxon loved the rides and the characters. He was such a good boy the whole time. The last two weeks of October, California Adventures throws a Halloween party every night. You dress up in your costumes, trick-or-treat through the park and go to dance parties with all of the characters. It was tons of fun! We loved spending time with our family and we were so sad when it was time to go home. Disneyland we miss you but hopefully we will be back in April. :)

I am 5 months old!

Jaxon is now 5 months old and he is getting way too big way too fast. It makes me sad that he is growing so fast. But at the same time he is so much fun and he has so much personality already. After we got back from Disneyland, Jaxon got sick with a cold and a cough. I took him to the doctors because he kept tugging on his left ear and I was scared that he was getting an ear infection. Thank goodness he didn't have an ear infection but they did weigh my little beast and to my astonishment he weighed 18lbs 11oz. What happened to the 7lbs 14oz baby I had 5 months ago? We just love our little chunk so much!

Yay for Halloween! Jaxon had a great first Halloween even though he has no clue whats going on and he won't remember it next year. Every year we go trick-or-treating with my family and we have a great time just relaxing, eating and then we are on our way going door to door for candy. This year it was raining so we only went to 10 house and still got tons of candy. There just aren't very many kids that go door to door tirck-or-treating. It's kind of sad. But we still had a good time.

4 Months!

Jaxon will be 4 months old on Sunday but we had his 4 month check-up today. He is weighing in @ 15 lbs 9 ounces and is 25 3/4 inches long. He is a chunk! But that just means more to LOVE! He is healthy besides a little cold. Which fortunately is just a runny nose.

Last week Josh and I decided that it was time to put Jaxon in his own room to sleep. We just couldn't take listening to him lift his legs up and slam them on his mattress all night. He just can't be still even at night. I didn't think he would have any problem sleeping in his own room. Boy was I wrong. He hated it! I was up every 2 hours with him screaming his head off. I also tried to stop swaddling him @ night in fear that his blanket would work it's way up over his head from all his kicking. That was also not a good idea. So the next day I went to Babies R' Us and bought the swaddle me blanket. What a life saver! This is the best invention if your child has to be swaddled @ night. Now Jaxon sleeps all night in his room all swaddled up from 9pm to 7am. Woo Hoo!!! He will probably have to be swaddled for the rest of his life.

I finally got Jaxon on video laughing! He is such a silly baby. He loves when Josh comes home from work and plays with him. Thats when he laughs the hardest. We just love his little personality.

Last week I started work again. I only work 2 days a week and for only 5 hours at a time. It is really nice to just get out of the house and also Josh gets some daddy and baby time with Jaxon.

Jaxon's new trick!

Jaxon is 3 months old today. He is so much fun! He laughs a lot. I have tried to get it on video but as soon as he sees the camera he stops and stares. I was able to get a video of him grabbing his feet. He started playing with his feet last week and does it all day. When I go to get him in the morning he will just be relaxing in his crib and playing with his feet. We just love him and we love to watch him grow!

I guess I am due for a new post. I don't have a ton to write about besides how big Jaxon is getting. He is 11 weeks old today but he seems so much older to me. He is so long and he is getting so heavy. He loves to laugh at the weird sounds that we make and the songs that we sing. He is such a smiley and happy baby! Well most of the time. Except when it's time to eat or when it's time for a nap.

We went on our annual family camping trip to Santa Cruz. Jaxon's first camping trip and his last for a while. It was actually better than I thought. We all had a blast! We relaxed on the beach, sat by the fire and went to Pizza My Heart. Jaxon loved being outside. He is a total boy! I can just imagine what next years camping trip will be like when Jaxon is 1 year old. I can totally wait for that!

Where has the time gone? Jaxon had his 2 month check up today. He is weighing in @ 11lbs 12oz and is 23 3/4 inches long. Almost 4 more inches than when he was born. He is so long! His doctor was impressed how well he could hold his head up for his age. I guess all that tummy time and holding him outward is really paying off!

He is such a good baby. I could just sit and talk to him all day, just for him to smile at me! His new thing is trying to shove his whole fist in his mouth. It is too funny! We love him so much. He is the joy in our lives!

i LoVe BeInG a MoM!

Jaxon has been all smiles the past couple of weeks. :)

Wow, how time flies! Being a mom is amazing! I love every minute of it! I love to watch all the new tricks Jaxon can do. From smiling to cooing and even rolling over a few times. The rolling over is not consistant. It only happens when he gets really crazy and can't be still. But it is all so exciting to me. I can't believe how fast they grow. It's crazy how they go from doing nothing when they are newborns to smiling when you talk to them and even trying really hard to talk back. He is the greatest blessing in my life and I look forward to watching him grow each day!

The Luckiest And Not So Lucky!

I am sure most moms know how hard it is to get your baby to sleep through the night. The first 2 weeks after Jaxon was born I was lucky if he would sleep 2 hours straight at night and if I could even get him to bed before 2 am. Then by 3 weeks he worked his way up to sleeping two 4 hour strethches through the night. And I was thrilled about that. Now I can say at 1 month he is sleeping anywhere from 6 to 8 hours straight. I don't know how he did it but i do know that he has been sleeping great for about a week now! I have to be the luckiest mom!:)

And on to the unlucky part. For the past week and a half Jaxon has had a hard time keeping his food down. Each time he eats he would spit up just about everything. So this meant that I had to feed him pretty much every hour just to get him somewhat satisfied. :( I have been feeling like a cow because he has to eat so much. Finally Josh and I took him to the doctors because we knew something was not right. First the doctor told us that he might have the flu. Which I thought was weird because I didn't think the flu could last for over a week. He told us to only give him 1/2 oz of pedialyte every 15 minutes for 12 hours. This was torture! Everytime we gave it to him it would all come back up. He was starving by the time the 12 hours were over and I felt so bad. So again today I took him to the doctors and he lost 4 oz and the doctor thought it would be a good idea to treat him for acid reflux. I thought this all along but at first the doctor didn't agree with me. Maybe sometimes they should just listen to the mom! The medicine should hopefully help him so he's not in pain and so he can keep some of his food down. Poor little guy!

This was Jaxon's first photo shoot. Well besides the photo shoots that I put him through everyday. A friend of mine Katie Elmer offered to take his pictures for me. She did an awesome job! She is just getting started with her photography and is already so professional. Thanks Katie! We LOVE the pictures! He did a pretty good job for only being 2 weeks old. We were able to get some of him awake, sleeping and of course screaming his little head off. I am so excited to start putting up some pictures of Jaxon around our home. We just LOVE our little man!

So for the past 2 1/2 weeks i have been lucky to have Josh home from work. We were both able to take care of Jaxon and spend time together. It has been so nice! But today was Josh's first day back to work. :( I thought how am i going to be able to take care of Jaxon all by myself? Well I am happy to say today has been pretty good! I was even able to clean and take a shower. Woo hoo! We sure miss our daddy being home!

Welcome Jaxon Daniel Mortimer!

After all the anticipation, Jaxon was born on May 28th @ 12:03am. He was 7lbs. 14.6oz and 20 inches long. Heavenly Father has blessed us with the most beautiful and loving baby!

I knew he would be arriving soon when I started having contractions on Monday evening. By 10:30pm they were strong and were 4 minutes apart. So Josh and I decided to go to the hospital and see if it was time. The doctor told me I was only 1 cm dilated but that the baby had a dip in his heart rate so they wanted to keep me a few hours and monitor him. The few hours turned into the doctors inducing labor because I was over my due date. By 9:00 am they decided to break my water so they could put an internal monitor on the baby and one to monitor my contractions. Within minutes I was in active labor and I was ready for an epidural. I got the epidural @ 11:00 am and it was amazing. I didn’t feel any contractions after that. I was able to rest before the delivery. I was fully dilated 5 hours after I received my epidural. So I thought that I would have a baby by 6:00 pm. Well what I thought was way wrong! Jaxon would not drop into the birth canal and he was sunny side up. So I had to wait to see if he would drop. There was no progression, so by 7:30 I had to start pushing and they had to rotate him. And 4 ½ hours later Jaxon was born. It was not pleasant pushing for that long but what I got out of it made it all worth it!

Still No Baby!

So tomorrow is my due date and Jaxon still has not arrived. :( I had a doctors appointment today and still no progression. So I feel like it is never going to happen. I have another appointment on the 30th and if there is still no progression then they are going to induce me that day or on the 31st. A week is a long time especially when your baby can gain a whole pound. Not to excited about that! I guess I will just continue to enjoy my free time and get lots of sleep.

Yay, For Mother's Day! So even though Jaxon has not arrived yet, Josh and I still celebrated. He will be here soon enough. Josh took me out on Friday night for dinner and a movie. We saw "Baby Mama" which was actually really funny! We had a great time and really enjoyed our time together. On Mother's Day we had dinner with family and everyone guessed when Jaxon is going to be born. I am guessing May 19th, just because it is before my due date and seems pretty reasonable. But with my luck he probably won't arrive until May 29th.

Also for Mother's Day Josh wrote me a very nice letter and he bought me a video camera! Woo hoo! I can't wait to put it to some use. Well after I figure out how to work it. So all in all I had a great first mother's day. I hope all you mother's had a wonderful day too!

Last Day of Work! :)

Yesterday was my last day of work at Red Robin. Yay! I am so happy but at the same time I don't know what I am going to do with all of this extra time? I mean there are only so many times I can clean the house. I still have alot more of Jaxon's room to finish so I guess I will be working on that. I will probably be doing alot of walking, hoping that it will help to get this baby out of me! Most of all I am going to enjoy this time off. I never had more than a week or 2 off of work, so I will relax and enjoy it before the baby comes. I just can't wait to meet him!

I also had a doctors appointment yesterday. It went really well. I heard the baby's heart beat and he is doing great! Then it came time to check me. I thought hopefully I am dialated a little but I was not. Bummer! I know I still have 4 weeks to go but it seems like he's never going to come. His head is down and in position, so that was some good news. I am just anticipating his arrival.

Baby Fest!

Last Saturday was my baby shower (Baby Fest). I had such a wonderful time with family and friends. Everything was great! My sister Megan and my Mom put it all together and I couldn't have asked for a better shower! Thank you to all that came. I hope you all had a wonderful time. Thank you to my sister Megan (my bestest friend in the whole world) for all your hard work and planning. I couldn't ask for a better friend or sister! Thank you Mom for all your hard work too! I love you guys! I feel a lot more prepared for little Jaxon to arrive.

We Love Baseball!

Wednesday Josh and I had the opportunity to go to a A's vs. Red Sox game in Oakland. We had so much fun! Baseball is our all time favorite sport. Josh loves the A's so he sported all of A's gear. I am a Yankee fan but I still had a good time at the game. Unfortunately for Josh, the Red Sox beat the A's 5-0. We still had a blast! Afterwards we went to the vacaville outlets and had dinner and did a little shopping. Well more like just browsing. We had a nice day together! We are trying to do things now because we know when Jaxon arrives it won't be as easy to just pick up and go. WE LOVE BASEBALL!!!

Doctor's Appointment

So I had a doctors appt. on tuesday and everything was great. I heard the baby's heart beat that is always so reassuring. The only thing that makes me nervous is that I am measuring big. I know my due date is right so I guess this means I am going to have a big baby.:( I don't mind if he is a chunk later but not for my delievery. I am sure everything will be Ok.

I am so excited how fast the time is going! I just can't wait to hold him in my arms.:)

I am horrible at this blogging thing. I promise that I will get better. Especially when I am not so busy with work.

One Active Little Man!

So for the first time last night I felt Jaxon move. He was kicking me like crazy. Josh was able to feel it too when he put his hand on my belly. He got so excited! And all day today he must have been doing somersaults because now I can feel him move all over the place. I thought this day would never come. It is so awesome to feel your baby move inside your belly. It makes this pregnancy more real. And I love it!

Yes that is correct it's a boy. Our little Jaxon Mortimer. We couldn't be more happy and excited! The ultrasound was kind of long but it was an amazing experience. He was just so comfortable that he didn't want to move. But after some walking around a bit he woke up and gave us some good pictures! He was not very modest and he was not shy. He had his legs open and there was no mistaking that he was a boy. Now it's off to shopping for our little man.

So Wednesday is the big day that we go in for my ultrasound! I am so excited to find out if it is going to be a boy or a girl. Then I can finally go baby shopping! So what do you think it is going to be a boy or a girl? I will keep you updated.

2 year Anniversary!

Yeah! It has been 2 years since Josh and I got married. I guess time flies when you are having fun! Since it landed on a sunday this year we decided to celebrate early on the 4th. We went to a nice dinner @ Carmelita's and ended our night with some Mario Kart racing. It was laid back, but it was fun and relaxing. We look forward to many fun and exciting years together.

Being Sick is Not Fun

Just as I thought that I was done being sick, I got sick again. I thought I was lucky because I only had morning sickness for about 6 weeks. Not that lucky! A week after my morning sickness stopped I developed a bad cough and a stuffy nose. Which I thought was all part of being pregnant. Being congested is. Not the Cough. I had a really bad wheeze and I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without losing my breath.

So after waiting a miserable two and half weeks and only getting about 4 hours of sleep a night, I finally went to the doctors. The doctor told me that I shouldn't have waited so long because my cough turned out to be bronchitis. And not only that I had developed asthma. I learned that I will never ever wait that long to go to the doctors again.

Josh and I decided that before we got pregnant we wanted to go on a nice vacation together. We went to Playa del Carmen, México. It is just south of Cancún. We had a blast and we didn't want to come home. The only thing that I did not like was the heat and the humidity. It was kind of like being in a sauna all day. We went to the Mayan ruins in Tulúm. It was so awesome to see the houses where the Mayans lived and the Temples they worshiped in. We went to Cozumél and went snorkeling. Not to mention the beach was beautiful. The water was so blue and the sand was so soft.

Josh and I found out that we were going to have a baby almost 2 months ago. We are so Excited! I am 11 weeks pregnant with a long way to go. But that is ok because time just seems to be flying by. I am due on May 23rd 2008. You know whats funny is it so happens to also be the same day that Josh graduates from college. As you can see we did some good planning... This is a picture of the baby at 9 weeks at my first doctors appointment. It was so awesome seeing the little heart beat. Now I know that I haven't been sick for nothing, but there is actually a little baby in there!
